Pastor Haroldo Nunes was born in Brazil where he grew up. He is married to Esmirna who is originally from Bolivia. They have three children; Gabriela, who is a freshman at Goshen College, Paulo, who is a freshman at Central Christian School and Laura who is in kindergarten.
Haroldo is an ordained Mennonite pastor. He graduated from a university in Brazil and now he is taking an on-line seminary class in a Mennonite Seminary. He is also a board member of MCC Great Lakes, representing the Mennonite Hispanic Church of United States.
The Nunes’ family is working with Hispanic ministry at Salem Mennonite Church and Open Arms Hispanic Ministries since June 2006.
The different activities at Salem church with the Hispanics like meals, celebrations and special services as baptism, child dedication, Sunday School class and the sermon in Spanish once a month are drawing a good group of people to worship and fellowship, giving them a new option in their lives. God is changing their hearts and inviting them to a new life full of joy and happiness in Christ Jesus.
